FAQ
Do i need a copywriter, editor or proofreader?
Good question.
As a copywriter I create content based on your brief, bullet points or midnight brainstorm.
As a copyeditor I improve your existing copy so it reflects the professionalism of your brand.
As a proofreader I check and correct your material to ensure it’s ready for publication.
If you’re not sure what level of intervention your project needs, please send me a sample and I will advise.
IS MY JOB TOO SMALL / BIG FOR YOU?
There’s only one way to find out! Get in touch and tell me what you’ve got planned.
what will you need from me?
A successful collaboration requires a brief, context and supporting information from you. We agree the scope, a deadline, a method of communication, and terms and conditions for the project.
Here’s what that means:
A brief: what do you need from me?
Context: where does this project sit amongst your other marketing activities?
Audience: who is this project intended to reach?
Goals: what do you want to achieve with this project?
Supporting information: brochures, brand guidelines, etc
Scope: what the project does / does not involve.
Communication: email address, direct dial telephone number, copy supplied / delivered as… (Word / GoogleDoc / PDF / printed).
Terms & Conditions: please enquire.
how much do you charge?
I charge an industry-standard rate per hour. I estimate how long it will take me to complete your project and give you a quote based on that. Complex projects or those that require a greater amount of copy intervention will inevitably take longer and therefore cost more. Anything beyond the original scope will be charged per hour but you will be notified of this beforehand and given options for how we proceed.
what’s your timescale?
That depends on what other projects I’m working on. Please mention your deadline when you get in touch.
Any other questions?
I’m happy to give an honest appraisal of whether I can help and what that would entail, or whether I think you need to hire someone else. Please contact me.
